The next day, Brian came over and he and Brizee were making out on the couch. Nick came downstairs.

      Do you two make out all the time, Nick said.

      Yeah, Brian said. Brizee giggled.

      Briz, do you have a doctors appointment? Nick asked.

      Yeah, I guess Ill go, Brizee said getting up.

      Ill come with you, Nick said.

      Ill be fine, Brizee said.

      Briz, Nick said.

      All right, fine, Brizee said. They left and went to the doctors office. Dr. Kelly gave her a check up.

      Everything seems to be fine, Dr. Kelly said.

      Thanks, Dr. Kelly, Brizee said. They went home and went in and saw Brian with Nicky.

      Hey, how did it go? Brian said.

      Everything is fine, Brizee said.

      Thats good, Brian said. The phone rang. Nick picked it up.

      Hello, hey Kev, what, okay, bye, Nick said.

      Whats up, Brian said.

      Band meeting, Nick said.

      Will you be okay? Brian asked.

      Ill be fine, Brizee said. Nick kissed her forehead and Brian kissed her and they left. Brizee sat down and watched Nicky in the playpen. Two hours later, the phone rang.

      Hello, Brizee said.

      Brizee, its Brian, Brian said.

      Hey, whats wrong, Brizee said.

      Its Nick, we were in a car accident, Im fine, Nicks in a coma, Brian said.

      Oh god! Brizee said as she started to cry.

      Can you come down to the hospital, Brian said.

      Im on my way, Brizee said. She got Nicky and drove to Jane and Bobs and told them what happened. BJ and Leslie stayed with Nicky while Jane, Bob, Aaron, Angel, and Brizee headed for the hospital. They crossed an intersection and there was a huge crash and everything went black.

Brian paced the waiting room as Kevin, Kristin, AJ, and Howie talked. Brian sat down.

      Brizee should have been here by now, Brian said.

      Brian, relax, Kevin said.

      BRIAN! they heard Jane call. He looked up and ran to them.

      What happened, Brian said. He saw Brizee on the gurney unconscious.

      We had a car accident, me and Bob are fine, so are Aaron and Angel, Brizee was knocked unconscious, Jane said.

      Is she? Brian said.

      No, shes still alive, she came to in the ambulance, but passed out again as we came in, Jane said.

      Brizee, Brian said.

      Sir, could you please move, a paramedic said.

      Im her boyfriend, Brian said.

      Brian, Dr. Kelly said.

      Dr. Kelly, help her, Brian said.

      Get her into examine room one, now Brian, I will let you know once I examine her, Dr. Kelly said.

      Please, dont let her lose the baby, it will kill her and Nick, Brian said.

      I will do everything I can, Dr. Kelly said. She went down the hall. Brian sat down.

      Brian, just pray, Jane said.

      God, I love her, Jane, Brian said.

      Brian, do you love her more than Nick does? Jane said.

      I dont think anyone can love her more than Nick, Brian said.

      Any word on Nick? Jane asked.

      Hes still in a coma, Brian said.

      This will kill him if she loses the baby, he called and told us the news and I could tell he was excited, Jane said.

      I know, Brian said. Dr. Kelly came out.

      How is she? Jane asked.

      She hit her head pretty hard, Im afraid she has amnesia, she only remembers being 20, she is missing three years, Dr. Kelly said. Brian sat down.

      Hows the baby? Jane said.

      The baby is fine, she doesnt know shes pregnant, can you call her parents? Dr. Kelly asked.

      Yeah, Brian said. Kevin nodded and went to the pay phones.

      Can I go see her, Jane said.

      Yes, but be gentle and dont tell her everything, let her remember on her own, Dr. Kelly said. Jane went to Brizees room. She walked in and saw Brizee looking out the window. She looked at Jane and her eyes widened.

      Oh god, you are Jane Carter, Brizee said.

      Yes, I am, hi Brizee, Jane said.

      How did you know my name? Brizee asked.

      The doctors, I wanted to come and visit you, you know Nick is here, at the hospital, and Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin are here, also, Aaron and Angel, and my husband, Bob, Jane said.

      I want to meet them but I dont want them seeing me in a hospital bed, Brizee said.

      Im sure they wont mind, Brizee, Jane said. Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin came in. Brian saw her and fought the urge to run over and kiss her senseless.

      Guys, this is Brizee, Jane said.

      Hi Brizee, Kevin said.

      Hi Brizee, AJ said

      Hi Brizee, Howie said. Brian remained quiet.  He left the room and leaned against the wall. Kevin came out.

      Brian, shes wondering what was wrong, Kevin said.

      I love her, Kev, so much, it hurts that she doesnt remember me, or any of us, and Nicky, she fought many of times to keep him, she doesnt remember her own son, Brian said.

      Brian, Nicks awake, Dr. Kelly said.

      Is he okay? Brian asked.

      Hes fine, hes asking for Brizee but we said she wasnt available, you better tell him, Dr. Kelly said. Brian and Kevin went to Nicks room.

      Frack, Brian said.

      Hey Frick, Nick said.

      Um, Nick, Brizee is in the hospital, Brian said.

      Why hasnt she came to see me, Nick said.

      Shes a patient here, she was in a car wreck with your parents and Aaron and Angel, Briz was the only one hurt, Brian said.

      How bad, Nick said.

      She hit her head hard, she has amnesia, she only remembers being 20, she doesnt know us, she doesnt know shes pregnant, or has a son, Brian said.

      Oh god, Nick said.

      Nick, we cant tell her everything, she has to remember on her own, Brian said.

      Oh god, Nicky, she doesnt know Nicky, oh god, Nick said.

      Im going back to see Briz, Brian said. He left the room and went in and saw Brizee alone.

      Hey, Brian said.

      Hi Brian, its nice to meet you, Brizee said. He sat down on the bed.

      Brian, can I talk to you, Dr. Kelly said. Brian left with her.

      What, Brian said.

      Tell her she has a son, and that she is pregnant, and tell her about Nick, Dr. Kelly said. Brian nodded and went back in.

      There are some things I have to tell you, Brian said. AJ came in and handed him something. Brian read it and saw it was a marriage license for Nick and Brizee.

      What is it, Brizee said.

      You are 23, not 20, you have amnesia, you are missing three years of your life, now Im going to tell you, dont get upset, okay, you are married to Nick, you went to our concert in Kansas City and told Nick about the marriage, you two made a go at it and fell in love, you two have a son, and you are pregnant with another baby, its Nicks baby, now dont think Im crazy, its the truth, you are Mrs. Nickolas Gene Carter, Brian said.

      Oh my god, Brizee said.

      Dont get upset, okay, you need to remain calm, for the baby you are carrying, Brian said. Jane came in

      Brian, Jane said.

      Jane, I told her, Dr. Kelly said I could, I told her about being married to Nick, having Nicky and the baby on the way, thats all, Brian said handing her the marriage license. Jane looked at it.

      Well, you have been calling me Mom, thats what you call me, Jane said.

      Do you think Im a bad person? Brizee said.

      No, you arent, Brizee, you are a sweet girl and the perfect match for Nick, Jane said.

      I am? Brizee said.

      Nick would walk through fire for you, Jane said.

      He loves me that much? Brizee said.

      Yes, he does, Brian said.

      I want to see him, Brizee said. Brian and Jane helped Brizee into a wheelchair and went to Nicks room. Brian pushed her through the door and Brizee saw him.

      Nick, look whos here, Brian said. Nick saw her and smiled.

      Hey there, Nick said.

      I understand you and I are married, and we have a son and another baby on the way, Brizee said. Nick looked at Brian  Brian nodded.

      Yeah, we are, Nick said.

      How long have we been married, Brizee said.

      Almost a year, Jane said.

      Oh, Brizee said. Dr. Kelly came in.

      There you are, Dr. Kelly said.

      I wanted to come see my husband, Brizee said.

      Well, Ill have a bed brought in for you so you can share with him, Dr. Kelly said.

      Okay, Brizee said looking at her hands.

      Brizee, you okay, Dr. Kelly said.

      Im fine, I guess its real, Brizee said.
