The next day, the guys went out to hang for the day while Brizee stayed in the suite and watched movies. She was in the middle of a movie when there was a knock at the door. She got up and opened the door and saw Jane, Bob, and Aaron standing there.

      Mom, I think we have the wrong room, Aaron said.

      The clerk said this was Nicks suite, Jane said.

      This is Nicks suite, Im his wife, can I help you? Brizee asked. Jane and Bob looked at each other.

      We are Nicks parents and this is Nicks brother, Jane said.

      Oh, I recognized you all, come in, Brizee said. They came in and she closed the door.

      So where is my son, Jane said.

      The guys have a day off so they went to hang out, Brizee said. Jane and Bob sat down. Aaron sat down. Brizee sat down and looked at them.

      I dont understand why my son got married and didnt tell us, Jane said.

      Its a long story, Mrs. Carter, and there wasnt a wedding ceremony, Brizee said.

      What do you mean? Jane asked. Brizee told them everything.

      I cant believe this, he could have called us, Bob said.

      I dont know why he didnt call you guys, I mean, he should have since you are his family, Brizee said. Nick came in and saw them. Jane stood up.

      Nickolas Gene Carter, how could you not tell us you were married! Jane said. Nick looked at Brizee. She shrugged.

      Im sorry, Mom, you dont know need to know everything about my life, Nick said.

      Im your mother, Nick, Jane said.

      So what, you only care about Aaron, Im just a big money sign you see, Nick said.

      How dare you talk to me like that, you are not a money sign to me, and I do care about you, Nick, so dont tell me I dont when I do! Jane said.

      Why are you even here! Nick said.

      We came to see you, Bob said.

      Well, you saw me, Nick said.

      Nick, Brizee said.

      What, Nick said.

      I cant believe you are talking to your parents this way, Brizee said.

      Stay out of this, Nick said.

      Um, lets see, the last time I checked, we are married so Im a part of this family now and I want everyone to get along, you guys are a family, family sticks together, I dont know what has been going on with you and your family but when Im a part of a family, the family doesnt fight, Brizee said.

      Where have you been all our lives, Jane said smiling at her.

      Just in a small town in Missouri, Brizee said.

      We got a winner here, Bob said.

      Nick, dont let this one go, Aaron said.

      Like I have a choice, I cant get an annulment or a divorce, Nick said.

      Nick, stop it, Brizee said. Nick sat down.

      Brizee, it was nice to meet you, but I know where we arent wanted, Jane said. They left. Brizee looked at Nick.

      What is your problem, Brizee said.

      You dont know them like I do, they will make you disappear from my life, Nick said.

      No, they wont, you and I are married, they cant do anything to me, plus I have a feeling that they like me, Brizee said.

      Brizee, they like to control my life, Nick said.

      They should know that you are old enough to make your own choices, Brizee said.

      Well, they dont, Nick said.

      Then you need to sit down with them and talk about that with them, Brizee said.

      I have, but they dont listen, Nick said.

      Make them listen, Nick, they are your family, Brizee said.

      I know, Nick said.

That night, Brizee was in the suite. She was waiting for Nick to come back. She sat there. The door opened and Billy came in helping Nick in. She saw a cast on his hand and wrist.

      What happened, Brizee said.

      He fell onstage tonight, sprained his wrist, the docs gave him medicine for the pain, and he might be getting a cold, Billy said. She helped Nick to bed and Billy went out the door. Brizee closed the door and got into bed with Nick and went to sleep. The next morning, she woke up and saw that Nick was shivering.

      Nick, Brizee said sitting up.

      I dont feel good, Im cold and then hot and cold again, Nick said shivering. She called Brian. He came in and saw Nick shivering.

      His mom is still in the hotel, get her, Brizee said. Brian nodded and left. Brizee got a warm washcloth and put it on his forehead. She stroked his cheek.

      Im here, okay, and Im not going anywhere, Brizee said.

      I know, Nick said cupping her cheek with his hand. Brian came in with Jane. Brizee moved out of the way and Jane took care  of Nick.

      He has the flu, need some aspirin to keep the fever down and he will need body heat to keep him warm and he needs to stay in bed, Jane said.

      We cant postpone any shows so we will have to go on without you, Nick, I mean, onstage, that is, Brian said.

      I know, Nick said softly.

      He cant be moved from this room until he is better, Jane said. Brian looked at Brizee.

      We cant leave him behind, Jane, Brian said.

      Billy can help him to the bus and to the bed on the bus and then in the next city, will we be getting a hotel room? Brizee asked.

      No, its only the bus, Nick said.

      The tour stop after next is the next time we will be getting hotel rooms, Brian said.

      Then hell stay on the bus until then, Brizee said.

      But who will be with him, Jane said.

      I will, Brizee said.

      Brizee, are you sure, Jane said.

      Im his wife, through sickness and in health, Brizee said. They looked at her.

      What, I read a lot, Brizee said. Jane and Brian left the room. Nick shivered.

      Im still cold and every blanket is on top of me, Nick said.

      I guess Ill have to apply body heat, turn to your side, Brizee said. He did that and she stripped off her clothes and got under the covers and pulled him against her. He moaned.

      Feel any better, Brizee said. She pulled his shirt off and pressed against him.

      Oh god, Nick said.

      Well? Brizee said.

      Much better, although there is a little problem, Nick said.

      Whats that, Brizee said.

      I want you bad, Nick said taking her hand and putting it on him and she felt that he was hard.

      Nick, not while you are sick, Brizee said.  He turned around and pulled her close.

      I dont care, Brizee, I want you, you are my wife, its time to make this marriage real, Nick said.

      I never slept with anyone before, Brizee said.

      Youre a virgin? Nick asked.

      Yes, Brizee said.
