Three months later, they got remarried and were enjoying life together. A week after they got married, Nick was home
alone. Hayley had gone up to visit her parents. Nick stayed behind because the group was promoting their new album with appearances
around Orlando. He was watching TV when the phone rang.
“Hello,” Nick said.
“Nick, it’s Laura,” Laura said.
“Laura, is something wrong?” Nick asked.
“Yes, there is, my daughter has lost her mind, but not from amnesia this time,” Laura said.
“What’s going on?” Nick asked.
“Hayley is cheating on you,” Laura said.
“What,” Nick said.
“She’s cheating on you, Nick, with her ex-husband, Evan, she’s been spending a lot of time lately
and I have been talking with Evan’s mother, she said that she caught them in bed last night, naked, she just called
me and told me they were in bed again, having sex,” Laura said.
“Oh god, I’m coming up there,” Nick said. He hung up and got his wallet and keys and went to the
airport and got on the next flight to Missouri. He rented a car and drove to Hayley’s parents house. He pulled up and
went up to the door and Laura opened the door.
“Where is she?” Nick asked.
“She’s with him, again,” Laura said. She told him the address and he went to Evan’s house.
His mother let him in and she told him where the bedroom was. He walked to the bedroom and opened the door and saw Evan and
Hayley in bed, naked and kissing. He cleared his throat. They broke apart and saw him. Hayley sat up.
“Nick, oh god,” Hayley said.
“We just got remarried a week ago and you are already having an affair, with your ex-husband, if you wanted him
so much, why didn’t you stay married to him!” Nick said.
“I didn’t remember marrying him, I only remembered you and our marriage,” Hayley said.
“You like fucking him so much, then be with him, I want nothing to do with you ever again, expect divorce papers,
you can be with your ex-husband, since you like being in his bed!” Nick said angrily. He closed the door and walked
out the door and went to his car and drove to the airport and headed back to Florida. He drove home and went in and started
packing up her stuff. Kevin and Brian came in and saw him.
“Nick, what’s going on,” Brian said.
“Hayley and I are over, I’m filing for a divorce,” Nick said.
“You just got married,” Kevin said.
“Yeah, and she’s been fucking her ex-husband ever since she went back up to Missouri,” Nick said.
Kevin and Brian looked at each other.
“How can she when she’s at the spa with Leighanne and Kristin for the weekend,” Kevin said.
“I saw her in bed with Evan,” Nick said.
“No, she’s with Leighanne and Kristin,” Brian said. The phone rang. Nick answered it.
“Hello,” Nick said.
“Nicky, what’s wrong,” Hayley said.
“What,” Nick said. He heard Leighanne and Kristin in the background.
“You sound upset and angry,” Hayley said.
“Your mother called me and told me you were cheating on me with Evan, I went up there and found you two in bed,”
Nick said.
“That’s impossible, I’ve been here with Leighanne and Kristin, they haven’t let me out of their
sight for a minute,” Hayley said. Brian called Laura.
“I don’t know what to think anymore,” Nick said sitting down.
“Nicky, why would I cheat on you, we got married again a week ago, I’m four months pregnant with our baby,
I have no reason to do anything to hurt you, baby, I love you, you are my life, you mean everything to me, you make me happy
and you make me feel safe and secure,” Hayley said.
“I don’t know what is going on,” Nick said. Brian got off the phone and grabbed the phone.
“Hayley, it’s Brian, your mother set it up, she wants you back with Evan so you would be close to her,”
Brian said.
“What the hell, the girls and I are coming back,” Hayley said. She hung up. Brian hung up. A couple hours
later, Leighanne, Kristin, and Hayley came in. Hayley hugged Nick.
“Not in a million years would I ever cheat on you,” Hayley said. Nick looked at her and looked into her
eyes.
“I know that now,” Nick said.
“Let’s go deal with my mother,” Hayley said. They went up to Missouri and arrived at Laura’s. Hayley went in and saw Laura and Evan sitting there.
“Mom, how could you do this, I’m happy with Nick, I love him and I’m having his baby,” Hayley
said.
“Hayley, I just wanted you close to me up here,” Laura said.
“By lying to Nick, he gave me up when I didn’t know who he was, he didn’t put up a fight or anything,
he did what he did at the time because I didn’t remember my life down here, but I do now, every bit of it, I’m
26 years old, Mom, I can do what I want and live where I want, you may not like it but it’s MY life, if you can’t
accept that, then you are nothing to me, let’s go,” Hayley said. She and Nick went back to Florida. She went to
see Dr. Kelly.
“Hayley, it’s best you stay calm for now on,” Dr. Kelly said.
“I will try my best,” Hayley said. She and Nick went home.
