Hayley walked into her house with Nick behind her. She looked around and just
stood there. Nick came up to her.
“Hey, you okay?” Nick asked.
“I feel stupid, I’m an idiot to have believed him, but he got what he deserved,” Hayley said.
“Yes, he did,” Nick said. Hayley looked at Nick.
“Nick, did you ever wonder if it was possible for a real marriage,” Hayley said.
“Sometimes,” Nick said.
“I want to try it, see what happens,” Hayley said.
“I don’t want you to be alone here, you can move back in with me if you want,” Nick said.
“I want to, I hate being alone,” Hayley said. They got her stuff together and got her moved back to his
house. Her house was up for sale. She started to unpack her stuff. Nick came in.
“Need any help?” Nick asked.
“I’m fine, Nick, thanks, I’m just figuring out where to put everything,” Hayley said.
“I’m going for a walk, I’ll be back,” Nick said.
“Okay, I’ll be unpacking,’ Hayley said. Nick smiled and went downstairs and out the back door. She
continued unpacking when she heard a noise. Thinking it was Nick, she turned and saw Kevin standing there.
“Get out,” Hayley said. Kevin came over and grabbed her and threw her on the bed.
“You ruined my life, now you will pay,” Kevin said.
Out on the beach….
Nick walked along and thought about everything. He realized he had feelings
for Hayley. He knew he had to talk to her. He headed back to the house and went upstairs and walked into the room and saw
Hayley curled up in a ball on the bed. He ran to her.
“Hayley, what happened!” Nick said.
“Kevin was here, he raped me, Nick,” Hayley said crying. He got her dressed and took her to the hospital.
Nick sat in the waiting room. Brian, Howie, and AJ came in and saw him.
“Nick, what happened,” Brian asked.
“Your cousin raped my wife, she told him to get out and he threw her on the bed and raped her, said that she
ruined his life, he ruined his life by cheating on Kris,” Nick said. Brian nodded.
“I’ll find him and talk to him,” Brian said.
“He’s in jail, probably, Hayley wanted to press charges, he hit her, he’s gone nuts,” Nick
said.
“I’ll go talk to him in jail,” Brian said. He left. Howie and AJ sat down.
“Nick, are you okay?” AJ asked.
“My wife was raped, AJ, no I’m not okay, I have feelings for her, J, I really want this marriage to work,”
Nick said.
“Mr. Carter?” a doctor asked. Nick stood up.
“Yes,” Nick said.
“I’m Dr. Frazier, I examined your wife, she was indeed raped, we gave her the day after pill to prevent
pregnancy, she needs lots of rest,” Dr. Frazier said.
“I’ll make sure she gets a lot of rest,” Nick said. A nurse brought Hayley out. Nick knelt down in
front of her.
“Hey,” Nick said.
“Take me home, Nick,” Hayley said. Nick took her home and carried her up to bed. He laid her on the bed
but she wouldn’t let go.
“Don’t leave me,” Hayley said. Nick laid beside her and held her as she curled up against him.
